MDCAT Exam
Here we will share about the difficulty level of the MDCAT exam and how much you need to study for the MDCAT to pass the MDCAT Exam and get admission to a Desired Medical or Dental College in Pakistan.
PMDC conducts the MDCAT exam, which is an Online/computer-based mandatory exam for Medical students willing to get admission in MBBS or BDS courses in Pakistan. Without passing the MDCAT exam, no student will be eligible to appear for admission to Medical colleges in Pakistan.
Each year, PMDC conducts MDCAT, which is MCQs MCQ-based exam having portions from Biology, Physics, Chemistry, English, and newly added Logical Reasoning. There are a total of 200 MCQs. 55% is the MDCAT passing mark for MBBS and 50% for BDS admissions.

Different types of MCQs come in MDCAT:
- Application-based MCQs are related to real-life situations.
- Analysis-based MCQs are from the concepts of the textbooks.
- Memory-based MCQs based on memory is straight out of the books.
MDCAT Syllabus
According to the PMDC MDCAT, the following types of MCQs will come in the MDCAT Biology, Chemistry, and Physics Portion,
- 70% of MCQs will be recalled
- 30% of MCQs will be application-level.
- 20% Easy MCQs,
- 60% Moderate MCQs,
- 20% Hard or Difficult MCQs.
Last year, the MDCAT passing percentage was 35.4%, which is quite low. you can see that the majority of students who appear in the MDCAT exam fail due to lack of preparation.
