ISLAMABAD: PMDC Announced to conduct MDCAT Test on 22 September. Pakistan Medical and Dental Commission has recently posted on their official social media accounts about the Medical and Dental colleges admissions test date.

PMDC held it 2nd council meeting on Sunday 04 June in which important decisions regarding MDCAT and NRE is discussed. Dr. Rizwan Taj President of PMDC Chaired the meeting.
MDCAT
According to the PMDC officials, the MDCAT will likely be conducted on 10 September this year. Further, it stated that last year 204,259 students appear in MDCAT and this year is expected that more than 210000 FSC pre-medical students will appear in the test.
MDCAT Syllabus
The PMDC council has decided to keep the MDCAT Syllabus unchanged and will follow last year's MDCAT syllabus.
How will conduct MDCAT
It is noted that MDCAT will be conducted at the provincial level and provincial medical colleges admitting universities, including UHS lahore, Punjab, KMU ETEA KPK, DUHS Karachi Sindh, SZABMU Islamabad and BUMHS Balochistan, will hold Medical tests.

MDCAT Merit Formula
According to UHS notification, the Merit formula for MDCAT will be as follows
- Matric SSC marks = 10%
- FSC (Pre Medical) = 40%
- MDCAT = 50%
MDCAT total will contain 200 MCQs from the Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and English sections. The passing marks in MDCAT are yet to be decided.

MDCAT is a mandatory exam for getting admission in MBBS or BDS degree from any Medical or dental college in Pakistan.
NUMS Entry Test
The National University of Medical Sciences will conduct its own NUMS MDCAT exam which is for all the Armed Forces Medical colleges, including Army Medical Colleges AMC Rawalpindi and also the NUMS-affiliated medical and dental colleges. CMH lahore, CMH Multan, Wah Medical Colleges, CMH Kharian, and Faizaia Medical Colleges are NUMS-affiliated private-sector medical colleges.
