The Medical and Dental Colleges Admissions Test (MDCAT) is conducted by the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMDC), which is a mandatory test for admissions to Medical or Dental Colleges in Pakistan. The Passing Mark for MDCAT is 55%, which means you not only have to appear in the MDCAT exam but also have to pass the test with at least 55% to be eligible for Medical College Admissions and 50% for Dental Colleges. 


Students who are repeating or improving the MDCAT test marks will know about the exam but students who have just pass the FSC board exams and going to appear for the MDCAT exam for the first time are very confused. General Information about MDCAT 

MDCAT Paper Pattern:

The MDCAT test is MCQs MCQ-based exam and has its own syllabus. PMDC MDCAT Syllabus is based on the FSC textbook. MDCAT has five portions: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English, and the newly added Logical Reasoning Portion.

  • Total MCQs: 200
  • Biology MCQs: 68
  • Chemistry MCQs: 56
  • Physics MCQs: 56
  • English MCQs: 20
  • Logical Reasoning MCQs: 10

    Validity:

    • MDCAT test results is valid for 03 years for MBBS or BDS admissions.
    Eligibility:

    • Must have 60% in FSC Pre Medical, A-Level, or Equivalent

    Age limit

    • Candidate must be 16 years old or Plus
    • There is no maximum age limit
    Passing Marks for MDCAT
    • 55% for MBBS admissions
    • 50% for BDS admissions
