Scope Of Pharm D Doctor Of Pharmacy in Pakistan

 In this blog, we will discuss Pharma D or also known as Doctor of Pharmacy. It is one of the most popular courses offered in the Medical Field. Students Who didn't get admission in MBBS or BDS courses opt to go for this Field. 

Introduction 

The main Role of Pharm D is from the Development of Medicine to the Delivery of Medicine.  This is the Most suitable field for Both Male and female students.

Students study the Chemical Compositions of Medicines, Classes of Different Drug and Medicines, and the Side Effects of Medicines and Effects of Medicine in the Human Body. Also, Remember the Brand names of all classes of Medicines. Following are the sub-classes of Pharm D.

  • Industrial Pharmacist 
  • Clinical Pharmacist
  • Community Pharmacist
  • Marketing Pharmacist


Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria to Get admission in D pharm Course in Pakistan is that the student must have secured 60 % in FSC Pre MEdical. also MDCAT entry Test which is conducted by PMC is not Compulsory for Admissions in D pharm.

Courses 

There are Several Courses Students Study during the % year Program of Pharm D.  Must the Subjects be related to Medicines and Types of MEdicines. Following is the list of Courses a Pharmacist Studeires during the Degree Program. 

  • Pharmaceutics, 
  • Bio-Chemistry, 
  • Organic Chemistry. 
  • Physiology, 
  • Anatomy 

Course Duration 

Pharm D is 5 Years Program and  It is Doctorate Degree So the Successful Candidate can write DR. name before their name. After Pharm D you can't  Dignos or do Surgery, But the Role of a Pharmacist comes after an MBBS doctor diagnoses the problems then a Pharmacist have to tell which medicine can be suitable.

There are multiple Government and Private Sector Institutes that are offering Degrees in Doctorate of Pharmacy. But Before an Institute starts this course It Must be accredited with the Pharmacy Council of Pakistan So Students who are willing to join any UNiversity must ensure that the UNiversity is accredited or have NOC for Pharmacy Studies. Closing Merit

The closing Merit of Pharm D is Rapidly increased in recent year. Now Students to secure admission in the Public Sector institutes must have high marks in FSC. Normally Good Public sector Institutes Closing Merits for Pharm D is  around 80 to 90 % 

on the Other hand, Closing Merits for Pharm D in Private Sectors universities is not so High are remain around 60 to 80 %  

Fee Structure

Fee Structure for Pharm D Complete 5 Year program is approximately 3 lakh to 4 lakh and in Private University is Various from 5 to 8 lakh for Complete Degree.

Jobs of Pharmacy

Candidates after completing the Degree program can get jobs in Multiple institutes. A list of Top Vacnys which open for pharmacists is provided below 

  • Government and Private Hospitals, 
  • Pharmacists have licenses to open Personal Medical Store, 
  • Medicine Development sector
  • Manufactories Factories such as Glaxo Smith Kline GSK Pfizer, 
  • Industries Laboratories, 
  • Research and Development, 
  • Development of Vaccines 
  • Can join a Teaching Institute, after MPhil or higher Specializations 

Candidates must be familiar with good Marking Skills so that pharmacists know how to sell medicines
