General Tips:

In Exam, there is a total of 200 MCQs and you will have 3 hours to submit the exam. If you're going to take NET in Islamabad then you will have a computer test and if you have selected Karachi or Quetta as your test center then it will be a paper-based exam means you will have to manually mark MCQs with a pen on the answer sheet provided to you.

Engineering students:

The major portion in NET is based on Mathematics for engineering candidates so you have to focus on it a lot. However, it doesn't mean you can take other subjects easily. You have to make a strong grip on physics, chemistry, English as well as on intelligence portion to score better in NET.

Time Management:

Out of 80 mathematics MCQs, around 40 to 45 MCQs will be simple and you will be able to solve them easily. Some MCQs may take more time (2-3 minutes) but you have to consider that you have to attempt 200 MCQs in 3 hours which means you have less than 1 minute to solve each MCQ. So don't stick on any MCQ, just skip that MCQ and solve the easier one first then go for the tough one. In a computer-based test, you will have the option to skip any MCQ and attempt it later.

Tips For All:

Don't leave any MCQ blank even if you did not know the correct answer. NET will not deduct your marks on the wrong answer as there is no negative marking. Use your luck on those MCQs.

Study Strategy:

Solve practice books and even if you didn't join any academy do buy global or KIPs etc. books for the NET series because it will be very helpful for you. Try to keep the focus on textbooks because eventually, NET will be only from a textbook. Also, make notes of important topics and chapters.

Mathematics Portion:

Try to solve mathematical problems without using a calculator because calculators are not allowed in any NET exam center. Do remember important formulas as they will save your time while solving MCQs. Carefully read Mathematics notes from the start of textbook chapters because it will make your concepts and can be asked in MCQs.

Physics Portion:

You have to remember the physics formula.

Chemistry Portion:

Do remember chemistry equations.

English Portion:

You can buy SAT book and solve exercises on vocabulary and comprehension.

Intelligence Portion:

It will contain a few simple questions to check your intelligence such as odd one out, shapes and directions, etc.

Setting Goal & Time Table:

You need to schedule your own timetable because you will have only 1 month to prepare for NET after FSC or A-levels. You can set goals for study and try your hard to achieve them.
